First Announcement & Call for Abstracts

Riga, Latvia | 14–18 June 2027

The 11th International Scientific Colloquium Modelling for Materials Processing (MMP 2027) will take place at the House of Science, University of Latvia.

The scientific programme welcomes contributions on:

  • Electrothermal processing and electromagnetic materials processing
  • Applied and fundamental magnetohydrodynamics
  • CFD and coupled multiphysics simulations
  • Non-invasive experimental diagnostics and flow measurements
  • Data-driven modelling, inverse problems, machine learning and reduced-order methods

14–15 June: ETP & MHD School, combining lectures with practical computational and experimental activities.

16–18 June: Main scientific conference.

Confirmed keynote speakers: Egbert Baake, Ebrahim Karimi Sibaki, Abdellah Kharicha, Andrew Kao, Tianshu Liu, Paolo Di Barba, and Jānis Virbulis & Kaspars Dadzis (joint keynote).

Abstract submission deadline: 15 March 2027.
Extended abstracts of 1–2 pages are invited. Participation is in person.

The conference will take place in Dresden from 27 to 30 September 2027 and will be hosted by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf.

UK Magnetohydrodynamics (UKMHD) will be held at the University of Glasgow on June 4th and 5th. This annual meeting has been running since 1978 and is a key forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in theoretical and computational MHD. A history of the meeting can be found here.

Contributions for presentations, both talks and posters, are warmly invited. All contributions by scientists at any stage of their careers, from PhD student to senior professor, are equally welcome. This year there will be two prizes, sponsored by the Royal Astronomical Society, of £100 each for the best poster and oral presentation by an early career researcher.

This year there are two keynote speakers: Dr Ravindra Desai (University of Warwick) and Professor Tamara Rogers (University of Newcastle).

Dear Colleagues,

As a reminder, pamir 2026 conference devoted to magneto sciences will be held from July 6 to 9, 2026, at the University of Leoben in Austria. As is now customary, the conference will be combined with a summer school; details of the event will be sent to you later. The call for papers is attached to this document.

Regarding the call for papers for the conference, which you are probably familiar with, you will see that we have extended the deadline for abstract submissions until February 6, 2026. For a few number of papers we can accept them up to Monday, February 23 2026

We hope to welcome you to Leoben for this new edition of Pamir.
