I – MMP 2010: INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COLLOQUIUM MODELLING FOR MATERIAL PROCESSING
———————————————–

In tradition of the international scientific colloquiums Modelling for Material Processing in Riga in 1999, 2006, Modelling for Saving Resources in Riga 2001 and Modelling for Electromagnetic Processing in Hanover 2003 and 2008 the University of Latvia organises, together with the Institute of Electrotechnology of the Leibnitz University of Hanover and other co-operation partners, the next colloquium Modelling for Material Processing in Riga in September 2010.

Main Topics

Papers on the numerical and physical modelling in following branches are welcome:
– Processing of high quality metal alloys and non-metallic (oxides, glasses, powders, composites) materials
– Crystal growing and surface treatment of semi-conductive materials
– Production processes for new and innovative products
– EM stirring, casting, shaping, forming and levitation
– Burning, evaporation and condensations processes
– Energy efficiency and sustainability of technological equipment

Deadlines

Submission of abstracts – March 31, 2010
Notification of acceptance – April 30, 2010
Submission of papers – June 30, 2010
Early-registration and payment – July 15, 2010
Distribution of programs – August 31, 2010

Time and Location

The colloquium will take place on September 16 and 17, 2010 in the main building of the University of Latvia, located in the boulevard Rainis 19 in Riga.

Riga, the capital of Latvia, situated on the coast of Baltic Sea, has more than 750.000 inhabitants and is the largest city in the Baltic countries. There are direct flight connections between Riga and many European cities. The University of Latvia is the biggest classical university in the state with more than 23 thousands students. Main building of the University is located in the city centre (20 minutes drive from airport, 5 minutes walk from old town) and is easy accessible by the public transportation system.
